Finding My Anchor

I read on the Noom blog today that it is important to find your anchor when losing weight.  An anchor in this case, is an activity that you can do anytime, anywhere.  Examples given in the article include: drinking 16oz of water upon waking, repeating a mantra in your head, etc.

My anchor(s) are pretty simple:
  • Water.  I love drinking water.  In fact, that’s what I drink after my morning coffee consumption is over with.  We have water when we travel, I have it at the office in lieu of soda, and during every meal.
  • Journal writing.  Initially I toyed with bringing out one of my many notebooks to log my weight loss journal, but using my cell phone to create a blog is far more simple.  It provides me a portable way to vent my feelings and hold myself accountable
  • Walking.  In Indy around where I work, there are these hidden gems of neighborhoods that are delightful to take an afternoon walk in.  I’m s pretty avid Pokémon Go player, so I can do that anywhere.
